Angeli Khang stressed there is no truth to rumors that she was supposedly involved in the breakup of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, noting that they don’t even know each other personally.
The rumors apparently made rounds on social media after internet personality Xian Gaza shared a Facebook post in February alleging such. The sexy actress responded to Gaza at the time, confronting him for making an “issue” about her.
Khang then addressed this again after she was asked about it by showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas in an interview in the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast on Tuesday, April 30.
“Actually, ang dami pong nag-tag sa akin—’Ikaw daw ‘yung reason ng breakup ni [Bea at Dominic].’ Tapos every time po na lumalabas ako, nakikita ko yung mga tingin sa ‘kin ng mga tao na parang hate na hate nila ako,” she told host Canlas.
(Actually, a lot of people were tagging me and saying, “You were the reason behind Bea and Dominic’s breakup.” And every time I go out, people look at me like they really hate me.)
“Kaya nung time na ‘yon, hindi muna ko lumabas nang one week. Hindi muna ko nagpakita sa lahat,” she revealed. (That was why at the time, I opted not to go out for a week. I didn’t meet with anyone.)
Khang asserted that these claims are “fake news,” further noting that her personality is far from the character she portrays on screen.
“Gusto kong mag-explain sa [mga tao na] ‘Wait. hindi po. Hindi po kami magkakilala,'” she added.
“Pero nakakatuwa lang po na kahit papaano, nakikilala ako ng mga tao even though it’s not in a good way. Pero trabaho lang po—Dominic and Bea, I love you po,” she stated, adding that she wants to work with the pair in the future.
(But it’s also advantageous on my part because at least people got to know me, although not in a good way. But it’s all just part of the job—Dominic and Bea, I love you.)
Alonzo and Roque confirmed their relationship to the public in 2021, then got engaged in 2023. The pair announced the “end of [their] engagement” last February.
