The 2024 Miss Philippines Earth pageant is slowly becoming a three-way fight with the recent gold medal win of Ansh Lichelle Jones during the evening gown competition held in Cebu on April 27.

The delegate from Zamboanga City topped the field of 29 candidates at the ceremonies held at the Toledo City Sports Center (Megadome), and was streamed live on the pageant’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

“Blessed beyond measure! Grateful for winning my first GOLD Medal at Miss Philippines Earth 2024 Long Gown Competition, and seeing my twinnie @irapatricia_ take home the SILVER! 🥈 Thanks to everyone for the love and support. Doing my hair, makeup, and everything solo was a challenge, but I’ve learned to be independent along the way,” Jones said on Instagram after bagging her award.

The silver medal went to Ira Patricia Malaluan from Batangas City, while Sam Samara from Makati City settled for the bronze medal. Both of them had also earned their own gold medals from earlier activities.

Samara topped the Beach Wear Competition held in Borongan City in Eastern Samar on April 25, while Malaluan earned the most votes from members of the media to clinch the “Darling of the Press” award during the press presentation held at Lime Resort Manila in Pasay City on April 17.

The three ladies are also among the ten delegates vying for the “Miss Hana” title, asking for the public’s help. To cast votes, fans must visit the Miss Philippines Earth Facebook page and react to their chosen candidate’s photo from the dedicated album. Votes will be accepted until midnight of May 10.

Facebook votes will make up 35 percent of the total score for the “Miss Hana” special title, which will be awarded in the final competition show that will be held in the town of Talakag in the province of Bukidnon on May 11.

Reigning queen Yllana Marie Aduana, who was crowned Miss Earth-Air at the 2023 Miss Earth pageant in Vietnam in December, will relinquish her national crown to her successor at the end of the show.

The eventual winner will represent the Philippines in the 24th Miss Earth pageant, that will be held again in Vietnam later this year, and try to become the fifth Filipino woman to win the international title.
