Filipina socialite Heart Evangelista hopped on to the “how do rich people laugh” TikTok trend after the netizens asked her to teach them how to ace the “rich girl laugh.”
On TikTok, the global fashion influencer demonstrated the “right way” to ace the “rich girl laugh” as she remarked that the laugh of a rich girl is something where one should be able to count the “haha.”
“Hindi ko naman sinasabi na rich ako, pero kung gusto mong magpanggap, why not?” she said as she went to give her version of the trendy laugh. “Dapat bilang, ha-ha-ha,” she said as he counted the syllables with her fingers. “Ganon lang po ka simple in just less than five steps.”
(I’m not saying I’m rich, but if you want to pretend, why not?…. It should be counted as ha-ha-ha. It’s that simple, just less than five steps.)
In the comment section of the Kapuso actress’ post, the netizens started to poke fun and even named the other celebrities and personalities that have the same rich girl laugh as Evangelista – socialite Small Laude, Anne Curtis, and Julia Barretto.

But while Evangelista tried to downgrade her personal wealth, not to mention her family’s, an article by Money Inc. indicated her net worth to be over $10 million as of 2023. The fashionista’s wealth comes from different sources, including her acting career, visual art, brand endorsements, music, modeling, and business, among others, making her one of the highest-earning celebrities in the Philippines.
The “how do rich people laugh?” online trend started when a group of men playing golf, a sport that is considered for the rich, started laughing. The netizens described their laughter as something distinct that only the real rich people can effortlessly do.
As of this writing, the search for “how do rich people laugh” reached around 260 million TikTok posts.
