Andi Eigenmann, Philmar Alipayo postpone wedding after Jaclyn Jose’s death

Andi Eigenmann revealed that she and her non-showbiz partner Philmar Alipayo have decided to postpone their 2024 wedding in view of the recent death of her mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP)’s Parangal ng Sining 2024 held last April 19, Eigenmann said she and Alipayo have decided to “wait out a bit” on their wedding, which they were supposed to be dedicated to Jose.
Eigenmann was present at the FDCP’s Parangal ng Sining to accept the Honorary Distinction on her mother’s behalf. In her acceptance speech, an emotional Eigenmann thanked those who showed love for the screen veteran throughout her career.
“Honestly, we wanted to get married this year. But under these circumstances, we just decided to wait it out a bit. Para kay Nanay sana ‘yun (It was supposed to be for my mom),” she said.

Eigenmann, who’s in Manila to commemorate Jose’s 40th day after death, said she will focus on the “good things” to help herself move forward.
“Mahirap (It’s hard). Slowly, I hope I’ll get there. But I know she is proud of me, she loves me, and her grandchildren so I’ll focus on the good things and my family,” she said. “It just happened very recently so tributes for my Mom [touch my heart]… I’ve always been proud of my mom. I’ve always been my mom’s biggest fan.”
When asked how her children are doing, Eigenmann said she’s proud of her daughter Ellie for having a “deeper understanding of what happened.” Meanwhile, Lilo and Koa are always looking for Jose but they’re somehow getting a grasp of Jose’s death.
“My two younger children — Lilo and Koa — without having to explain, naiintindihan nila ‘yung situation. Parati nilang hinahanap si Nanay, when we go back to Manila. Feeling ko, naiintindihan na nila somehow which is weird, since bata pa sila,” she said.

“I am proud of Ellie, who is 12, has a deeper understanding of what happened. I know she is sad and grieving too, but she is very strong, It’s nice to see and hear the things she says to remember my mom,” she continued.
Jose died of a heart attack last March 2. She was 60 years old.
Eigenmann and Alipayo have been engaged since December 2020. They have two children together, Lilo and Koa. Meanwhile, Ellie is the former actress’ daughter with Jake Ejercito.
