Albie Casiño has no regrets about his honest admission regarding his absence in the wake of the late Jaclyn Jose, the mother of his ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann, in March.
Casiño made headlines after he candidly revealed that he was “not affected” by Jose’s death at a press conference for the movie “Kasalo.” He also shared that he didn’t visit her wake since he “might not be welcomed.”
Days later, the actor said on the sidelines of the “Can’t Buy Me Love” mediacon that he didn’t regret any of his remarks at the time.
“I don’t regret that. I don’t care about how people react, ‘diba (right)? But like, that was just an honest question. I just answered it honestly,” he said. “People die every day. And of course, it’s always sad when somebody dies. But I’m not affected by that.”
When asked if he’s bothered by the possible backlash, Casiño said he “doesn’t care what somebody” would say on social media.
“Why would I care about what somebody has to say on the internet? If I want your opinion, I’ll ask for it,” he firmly said.
Casiño was involved in a paternity controversy after Eigenmann got pregnant in 2011. The father of the child, who turned out to be Ellie, was eventually confirmed to be Jake Ejercito.
Jose died of a heart attack on March 3, with her death being confirmed by her agency PPL Entertainment Inc., and Eigenmann shortly after. She made history as the first Filipina to win Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
