Filipino-Argentinian Chanty of K-pop girl group Lapillus will take a break from participating in group activities for an indefinite period, as she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome.

Lapillus’ talent management agency MLD Entertainment announced this through a statement released on its Twitter page on Friday, April 5.

“Chanty has been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and has seen improvement in her health through continuous treatment and consistent care from her attending doctor,” the statement began.

“However, there is concern that engaging in high-intensity group musical activities may cause the relapse of her symptoms and strain in her health,” it continued.

The company then stated that while Chanty’s group activities will be “indefinitely postponed,” she will still be part of the group and will continue her individual activities.

“We will do our best to support the health and recovery of our artist, so we ask for the utmost understanding of the fans. We humbly ask for warm encouragement and continuous support for the future activities of Lapillus and Chanty,” it concluded.

Prior to being a K-pop idol, Chanty was a commercial model and a Star Magic actress who appeared in “Starla” and the film “Familia Blondina.”

Chanty and the five other members of Lapillus debuted in June 2022.
