BabyMonster drops EP, ‘Sheesh’ music video as seven-piece act
BabyMonster — composed of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita — released its first extended play (EP) “BabyMons7er” as a seven-member group on Monday, April 1 (March 31 in the Philippines).
The YG Entertainment rookie girl group was initially launched as a six-member group in November 2023, since Ahyeon took a short break due to health issues. She eventually returned in January 2024.
Months later, BabyMonster released their first mini-album as a complete unit, which according to YG founder and producer Yang Hyun-suk, is their “official debut.”
The album contains the tracks “Monster (Intro),” “Sheesh,” “Like That,” “Stuck In The Middle (7 ver.),” “Batter Up (7 ver.),” “Dream,” and “Stuck in the Middle (Remix).”
Along with the record, a music video of the title track “Sheesh” was also released featuring the members in dramatic gowns. The members were also seen in punk-inspired ensembles in dark colors.
BabyMonster is YG’s first girl group in eight years since Blackpink. They were formed through the reality show “Last Evaluation.”
