Actress Yasmien Kurdi happily announced that she recently graduated from the Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts (APCA).

On Instagram, Kurdi shared some snapshots from her graduation, which she attended with her husband and first-born daughter. She expressed her gratitude for being able to finish the course despite her second pregnancy.

“[I] can’t believe it! I thought I couldn’t do it because of my pregnancy but I did it! I’m so happy! Good thing the baby in my tummy was cooperative the whole time while I was in class,” she wrote.

The “StarStruck” alumna remarked that her maternity leave became worth it because she achieved something valuable.

“Naging productive ang #MaternityLeave ko because I gained new skills and knowledge. I enjoyed every baking pastry class! Nakaka relax siya for me,” she said.

The Kapuso actress then thanked her teachers, classmates, batchmates and her family for helping her achieve the milestone.

In 2019, Kurdi earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from Arellano University while juggling it with her first-time mother duties and acting career.

The actress had opened up in the past that her “biggest insecurity” was not being able to finish her studies when she was young, as she had to work and be a provider. So when she had the chance and enough funds to pursue her education, she grabbed the opportunity.

Kurdi remarked that there is no timeline for pursuing education as long as “one will arrive there eventually.”

Hindi naman importante kung ten or twenty years ka natapos mag-aral. Hindi naman siya race para matapos kaagad. What’s important is that you are doing something about it na para matapos ka at dumating ka sa finish line,” she said at the time.

(It doesn’t matter if you finished school in 10 or 20 years. It’s not a race to finish right away. What’s important is that you are doing something about it so that you finish and you arrive at the finish line.)

Kurdi has been married to her non-showbiz husband Rey Soldevilla Jr., a pilot, since 2012.
