(The P299 ring issue, that’s overreacting. I myself don’t have an engagement ring, and we don’t even wear our wedding rings because we never got used to it. Our wedding expenses was only P20,000.)

Kurdi advised the netizens to put their money on land and house investments instead of material things that can only be displayed.

“In my opinion, iinvest niyo nalang pera niyo sa lupa at bahay.

The actress pointed out that material things will have their value depending on the person who carries them and not on the actual value itself.

P299 engagement ring

The engagement ring issue first came about when a woman who remained anonymous took to a Facebook page called “Hugot Ni Juan” to lament about her boyfriend of eight years after he proposed to her with a ring costing P299.

“My boyfriend of eight years just proposed to me. Pero na-guilty ako kasi I am upset due to the fact that the engagement ring only cost 299 pesos,” wrote the girl.

The woman emphasized if she would consider perceiving her boyfriend’s action as equivalent to her worth, as she asked if she would confront the guy as she saw the ring in an online shop.

Or di ko ba dapat e big deal? Am I too immature to feel this way?” she asked.

Or should I confront him, kasi ayoko din naman masira yung moment?” the girl added.

Social media exploded with several netizens and online personalities pitching in their own opinions.

Some of them said the cost of the ring should not matter as long as there is love between them, while others argued that one shouldn’t propose marriage if they are not yet financially capable.
