Julia Barretto, Carlo Aquino begin filming for new movie in Japan
Julia Barretto and Carlo Aquino flew to Japan and have begun shooting their upcoming film “Hold Me Close,” which is their reunion movie with director Jason Paul Laxamana.
A camera shot and a poster showing Barretto and Aquino were shared by Viva Films through its Instagram page on Wednesday, March 27.
“‘Hold Me Close’ now filming in Japan with Jairus Aquino and Migo Valid,” it said in the caption, referring to the other actors who are apparently part of the project as well.

The pair then treated fans to a sneak peek at their filming set through their respective Instagram Stories, with Aquino showing themselves at what appears to be an overlooking area.
Article continues after this advertisementBased on Laxamana’s Instagram page, he has been in Japan since March 22. The actors, meanwhile, appear to have arrived in the country on Tuesday, March 26.

Barretto and Aquino’s new project was announced earlier after Laxamana gave a glimpse of the pair’s look test. “Hold Me Close” is the actors’ second project together following their 2022 film “Expensive Candy,” which was also helmed by Laxamana.
Further details on the project including other cast members, plot and premiere date have yet to be disclosed as of this writing.
