Moira Dela Torre blooms solo as she dedicates Hitmaker plum to ‘brave’ mom
A cool and collected Moira Dela Torre declared that she’s blooming on her own, as she shared that she will be releasing an album that showcases her “most authentic and vulnerable” self.
On the sidelines of Billboard Philippines Women in Music blue carpet, Dela Torre briefly said she’s enjoying her life as a single woman when asked about her love life.
“I’m blooming on my own,” she said.
The singer also revealed that an album is in the works which was supposed to be released in the “spring” season. However, she had to delay its release since it had to “go through a lot of growth” with her.
“The album had to go through a lot of growth with me, it went through a lot of uncomfortable growth and I had to go through that process. I love that it really did. It will be the most authentic, vulnerable, uplifting, and encouraging album,” she said.

Love for her mom
During her acceptance speech, Dela Torre then dedicated her Hitmaker award to her “brave” single mother, whom she credited for becoming the person and artist she is today.
“Allow me to share this with my mom. This is not known to many, but I was raised by a single mom, and life with her has shaped who I am as a person and as an artist,” she said.
The “Paubaya” singer said her mom taught her how to “show empathy” to those who hurt her, which reminded her to know her own worth. “Mom, thank you for teaching me how to love unconditionally. I watched you show empathy to people who hurt you while you invalidated your own hurt.”
“Because of you, I know my worth even if I’m not sure. Because of you, I know my worth and I dare to show vulnerability and honesty even if I’m scared,” she continued. “I’m sure it was hard to navigate as a single mom and face judgment from everybody, but, mom, thank you for being brave,” said Dela Torre.
Dela Torre is currently finalizing her annulment from her estranged husband Jason Hernandez, who confirmed the process in June 2023. The ex-couple confirmed their split in May 2022 after Hernandez admitted he had been “unfaithful” in their marriage.
