Over a month after Claudine Barretto disclosed her resentment toward Angelu de Leon, the latter declared she has no ill feelings for the former, even expressing hope for their reconciliation.

De Leon spoke about the matter during an interview with comedian-showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz, as seen on his YouTube blog on Wednesday, March 27.

The subject was brought up after Diaz asked De Leon what her initial reaction was when Barretto, who was at Gladys Reyes’ party at the time, said she was not open to working on a reunion project with the actress-turned-politician.

De Leon attended Reyes’ party as well but had already left when Barretto spoke about their tiff.

“‘Yung initial reaction ko talaga [was], ‘Buti na lang wala na ako do’n.’ Gusto mo ng showbiz answer?—Kung nando’n ako, okay lang,” De Leon told Diaz. “Pero kasi, hindi naman ‘yun ‘yung nangyari and I don’t play what-ifs in my life.”

(My initial reaction was, “It was a good thing I was no longer at the event.” Do you want a showbiz answer?—If I were there, it would just be fine with me—but that’s not what happened, and I don’t play what-ifs in my life.)

“I’m grateful na ‘yung pagkakataon na ‘yon, gano’n ‘yung nangyari. I guess, kailangan ko rin magnilay-nilay. Pero I don’t want to disregard din kung meron siyang feelings na nasaktan,” she added.

(I’m grateful that at the time, that’s what happened. I guess I also need to contemplate. But I don’t want to disregard her hurt feelings.)

Seemingly unaware of how the misunderstanding started, De Leon said she hopes to settle things between her and Barretto.

“Kung merong gano’n pala, then eventually sana magkaroon ng pagkakataon na mag-ayos na lang nang face to face, and talagang sincere ‘yung mangyayari,” De Leon continued.

(If there was [a misunderstanding], then I hope that we will eventually have the chance to resolve this matter face to face, and sincerely.)

De Leon further noted that her post about forgiveness at the time, which was considered by some as a cryptic response to Barretto’s remark, was not about their tiff.

“At first, hindi naman talaga ‘yun ‘yung [intention]. Mahilig lang talaga ako mag-share ng mga gusto kong ilagay sa archive ko. Pero ‘yun nga, nung nakita ko, pwede rin nga naman,” she said.

(At first, it wasn’t really my intention. I just like sharing posts that I want to include in my archive. But when I took a second look, maybe it was actually relevant to our situation.)
