Millie Bobby Brown’s “Stranger Things” co-star Matthew Modine, who played Dr. Martin Brenner aka “Papa” in the Netflix series, revealed that he has been asked by the actress herself to officiate her upcoming wedding.
Modine confirmed to Access Daily the big role he will play in the union of Brown and Jake Bongiovi.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea,” he said.
The “Vision Quest” actor shared that Brown and her fiancé “loved the wedding vows” he wrote for them.
Given that it would be his second time to officiate a wedding in his life so far, Modine remarked that it is “a beautiful thing” to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.
The actor shared in his past interview that he and Brown would check in with each other before filming difficult scenes to tell each other, “I love you,” as they play unconventional father-and-daughter dynamics in “Stranger Things.”
“There were times this season when we would check in with each other, especially during scenes where we’re being harmful to one another,” Modine told Vulture.
“We would wink at each other before a scene started so we knew what we were doing, especially if it was saying something painful. It was a way to connect with one another and lift each other’s game.” he added.
Meanwhile, Brown recently shared that they are currently preparing for the wedding, and the process has been “exciting.”
“It’s such an amazing part of my life so far. Just being able to do it with someone makes it even better,” she said.
After dating for two years, the “Damsel” actress revealed her engagement to the son of Bon Jovi in April 2023.
