Pia Wurtzbach to auction Miss Universe memorabilia for a youth center project
Pia Wurtzbach plans to auction her Miss Universe memorabilia to help build a youth center in the country.
In her speech after accepting the People of the Year award from PeopleAsia, the beauty queen announced a project that she is spearheading and that, to raise funds, she would be auctioning all the dresses, accessories and shoes, among others, that she used during her reign as Miss Universe.
“This is the first time that I’ll be sharing it because it’s quite early on. So all of my Miss Universe memorabilia, everything I have of that year or around Miss Universe, I’m going to auction it off and then I’m going to start a project because I want to build a youth center here in Metro Manila for next year,” she shared.
The Miss Universe 2015 affirmed that she and her team will remain “transparent” with the proceeds of the auction which she plans to launch soon.
“I’ll share more details soon on my social media pages but I will time it during World AIDS day on December 1. Maybe you can attend, maybe you can make a donation. I’m not expecting everybody to buy the stuff but just to help the cost. I’m going to be 100% transparent to how much we collect and to how much we spend for the construction,” she remarked.

“Many years after that, I’ve worn many hats already. I’m still very much active in my advocacy in AIDS and ‘love yourself’ here in the Philippines. I also started talking about mental health. I have started collaborations, businesses. I wrote a novel. I am married now. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and doing more international appearances,” added Wurtzbach.
