The 2024 Miss Universe Philippines competition continues to excite pageant fans with the delegates’ introduction video that dropped online after the release of various collections of their photographs on social media that ran for weeks.
The pageant has been teasing the release of the video on its social media pages, and finally dropped it at exactly 6 p.m. on March 15 on the official YouTube channel of Empire Philippines, the team behind the annual competition and the sister search The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration, as well as the male tilt Mister Pilipinas Worldwide.
For the introduction video, the 55 delegates shared bits of information about themselves, such as their backgrounds and their aspirations. It offered a deeper insight into the lives and personalities of the participants that photos and short clips just cannot deliver.

The video also serves to kickoff the highly-anticipated video challenge series that avid pageant followers have been religiously engaging in year after year. The series involves different videos that compile the delegates’ individual entries in different categories such as glam, swimsuit, and runway.
Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Marquez Dee was among the Top 5 delegates in the Runway Challenge last year. Bohol’s Pauline Amelinckx, who eventually received the Miss Supranational Philippines title, was also among the runway leaders, and even topped the Swimsuit Challenge. The release dates for the video challenge series have not been announced as of this writing.

This year’s pageant is the fifth edition of the standalone search for the country’s delegate to the annual Miss Universe competition. Dee finished in the Top 10 of the global tilt’s 72nd edition held in El Salvador last year.
This year’s winner will represent the Philippines in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant to be held in Mexico later this year, and try to secure the country’s fifth victory in the international competition.
To date, the Philippines has produced four Miss Universe winners – Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
