Dagat,” to bring a unique ice cream experience to tourists in Matabungkay, Batangas.
Tatay Randy, 41, from Lian, Batangas, has been delighting beach tourists for almost a decade, with his unique approach to selling ice cream.
What makes him stand out? He ventures out to sea daily to reach tourists snorkeling in the vicinity of Matabungkay Beach.
With a styrofoam box, Tatay Randy fearlessly navigates the waves, rain or shine, for hours.
Tatay Randy’s dedication motivated SV to overcome his fear of swimming and help out.
Despite not knowing how to swim himself, SV chose to support Tatay Randy in selling ice cream to tourists, a task Tatay Randy could do best.
“Grabe ang bilib ko kay Tatay Randy. Isipin niyo araw araw ka lalangoy sa dagat para lang makabenta ng ice cream sa mga turista, nilalagay mo sa peligro ang sarili mong buhay,” SV stated.
Tatay Randy’s motivation for his daily aquatic venture is the influx of tourists in the snorkeling area. His earnings not only support his family’s daily needs, but also contribute to the education of his children.
In a heartening gesture of support, SV generously provided Tatay Randy with substantial help, a “Pangkabuhayan” package, a grocery package, school supplies for his children and a motorized boat that would help Tatay Randy in his business and fishing ventures.
