Jennie of Blackpink released her new single, “Slow Motion,” which is a collaboration with Matt Champion of Brockhampton fame, on Friday, March 8.
The single is a drum and bass song that will deliver a fresh and unique sound showcasing a different side of Champion’s musical talent, according to RCA Records. It will be Jennie’s first release since she left YG Entertainment to pursue solo projects. She has also established her own agency, Odd Atelier, in December.
On her Instagram account, Jennie said the single “is close to [her] heart” while revealing that it was brought to life three years before its release.
“Can’t believe this beautiful song is finally out. This one’s close to my heart and I’m so excited to share its message with you all. Matt and I worked on this song 3 years ago and I hope you guys enjoy it as we share a piece of ourselves,” she wrote.
Jennie has been starring in tvN variety show “Apartment 404” as its fixed member since Feb. 15.
She debuted as a solo artist in November 2018 with the release of her first solo single album, “Solo,” which has achieved 1 billion views on YouTube.
