It remains uncertain what show will take over the vacated noontime time slot of the now-defunct “Tahanang Pinakamasaya,” but GMA announced that a string of movies will be screened in the meantime.

On its Instagram page on Thursday, March 7, GMA launched its new noontime offering, “Lunchtime Movie Hits,” but it remained unknown what kind of movies would be aired.

This comes after GMA and Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. confirmed that “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” was axed, citing “unwanted circumstances” from the production company’s end.

Despite this, GMA and TAPE Inc. had a blocktime agreement to air a noontime show until December 2024.

The network, however, remained mum if a new show would be produced for its noontime slot or if “Lunchtime Movie Hits” would stay for good.

Meanwhile, the game show “TiktoClock” is being aired on GMA’s 11 a.m. slot while Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime” is broadcast on the network’s subsidiary GTV.

The TAPE Inc.-produced show previously held the title “Eat Bulaga” during its trademark battle with comedy trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, until they were declared as its rightful owners by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) last January.
