The smile that says a lot.
In the latest episode of Dear SV, there was no doubt that Sam Verzosa enjoyed his afternoon bonding with almost-centenarian Florirose Talastas, better known as Lola Rose.
Lola Rose became viral due to a social media post, which increased her “regular” customers. But despite the fame, she still has a lot of challenges to face.
SV learned that despite her age, Lola Rose was still responsible for the upbringing of two of her grandkids. She feeds them, supports their education, and even does their laundry on weekends. To do so, she needs to brave the streets daily.
“Puhunan ko ay karangalan…” Lola Rose proudly says.
To alleviate Lola Rose’s daily struggles, through Dear SV, Rep. Sam Verzosa bought her goods for the day. Aside from that, he also provided her with a month’s worth of groceries, a brand-new cellphone, and a set of foam and pillow so she could rest well after a day’s work.
But apart from all those gifts, what Lola Rose appreciated the most was the new and improved trolley with a built-in chair and umbrella, which she will utilize on her daily grind. On top of this, she was also given a new set of materials for her beadwork.
Almost centenarian?
Dear SV also helped Lola Rose fix her documents to make sure that she could claim her centenarian benefits once she reached 100 years old.
Based on the data and records from her hometown in Marinduque, Lola Rose is only 86 years old, which is still 14 years away from being a centenarian.

Still, a bit of a long time to wait, but the important thing is that all her documents were already fixed. She just needs to keep herself healthy to be able to reach the 100-year mark.
