Shuvee Etrata clarifies Joshua Garcia did not court her

GMA Sparkle artist Shuvee Etrata revealed Joshua Garcia did not try to court her but did send her an Instagram direct message in the past.
On Monday, March 4, Etrata sat down on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” and addressed the rumors that the Kapamilya actor tried to pursue her.
“I just wanted to clarify, hindi po nanligaw si Joshua sa akin. Ang ganda ko naman para ligawan ako ng isang Joshua Garcia!” she answered when Boy Abunda asked if Garcia ever tried to woo her.
(I just wanted to clarify that Joshua did not try to pursue me. [I don’t think] I’m pretty enough to be courted by Joshua Garcia.)
Despite being a fan of the actor, the Sparkle talent disclosed that Garcia only sent her a direct message (DM) on Instagram, which she never responded to, so their interaction did not go further than that.
“Noong nag-DM po siya, parang kinain talaga ako ng lupa. Pero it was not just the right time,” she shared.
(When he direct messaged me, I felt like the earth had eaten me. But it wasn’t just the right time.)
Although she was flattered by the “Good Son” actor’s initiative to reach out to her, Etrata admitted the reason she did not reply was because she got “overwhelmed” and stressed that her simple response may turn out to be something else in the future.
“Siguro kasi I was so overwhelmed with the fact na, ‘Ay kaya pala ni Joshua Garcia mag-chat sa akin.’ So overwhelming,” she remarked.
(Maybe because I was so overwhelmed with the fact that ‘Joshua Garcia can chat with me.’ So overwhelming.)
“Sinabi ko nga po sa lahat na, ‘Hala! Chinat ako ni Joshua Garcia!’ Pero parang hanggang doon lang po iyon, hindi na po iyon nag-ano kasi I know my priorities now… Madali lang po ako ma-inlove. Kung itutuloy ko iyon, nako!” added the Kapuso artist.
(I told everyone, ‘The Joshua Garcia sent me a message!’ But it seems like that’s all there is to it; It doesn’t matter anymore because I know my priorities now… I’m the kind of person who easily falls in love. If I responded, I might fall in love!)
In her past interview with GMA, Etrata underscored that she does not believe in “summer flings,” as she is a person who tends to date to marry their love interest in the end.
Meanwhile, Garcia was previously in a relationship with former love teammate Julia Barretto and is now rumored to be dating Filipino-French athlete Emilienne Vigier.
