Jericho Rosales affirmed his desire to work with Kristine Hermosa again for a movie adaptation of their popular TV series “Pangako Sayo.”
In his latest interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, the actor said that he felt like their version of the soap opera series was an “unfinished business,” and a movie version could act as a curtain call for him and Hermosa.
“I’ve always said [that] I want to work with Kristine because I feel like [it’s] some sort of unfinished business when it comes to our run,” he told the magazine.
Rosales revealed he even reached out to their manager to ask if the “Enteng Kabisote” actress would be interested in working with him again.
“It was the 25th anniversary [of Pangako Sa’yo] just recently and I told my manager because Kristine and I had the same manager before. I was like, ‘Hey, how is she? Do you think she’s going to be open to working with me?'” shared the actor.
The Asian Drama King of Primetime said that he wants the movie to showcase their characters 20 years later, stressing they should not appear as parents: “I don’t want us to be parents—it’s just like, rock and roll lang kasi, you know, last na.”
Coming from a recent separation from his former wife Kim Jones, the 44-year-old actor shared that he has a couple of projects lined up that’s supposed to keep him occupied.
“I have a slate. I’ve prepared the slate for myself, which I’m working on from 2024 to 2027. You’ll definitely see me in the cinemas this year,” he teased.
Meanwhile, Hermosa just recently announced that she is expecting her sixth child with her husband, Oyo Sotto.
Rosales and Hermosa’s love team catapulted their careers into one of ABS-CBN’s most popular. “Pangako Sa’yo” received critical acclaim during its airing; that’s why it got a modern remake in 2015 starring former love team and couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, known as “KathNiel.”
