Yael Yuzon proposes to Karylle ahead of 10th wedding anniversary

Love is in the air once again, as Spongecola frontman Yael Yuzon proposed to his wife Karylle on the Feb. 26 episode of “It’s Showtime” ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary in March.
Karylle was visibly caught off guard after Yuzon got down on one knee during his guest appearance on the noontime show, as the latter talked about “analyzing” how far their relationship had come in the past 10 years.
Before his proposal, however, “It’s Showtime” host Vhong Navarro seemingly acted as the musician’s cue, when he asked the musician to give a comment on his 10-year relationship with Karylle.
“Magte-10 years na kaming kasal and alam mo ‘yung thing about being kasal for 10 years, parang mas naanalyze mo ang [mga ups and downs] — mostly ups — but ‘yung downs, naa-analyze mo ang mga things,” said Yuzon in a video.
(We’re approaching 10 years of marriage. And if you know the thing about being married for 10 years, you analyze the ups and downs more. Mostly ups, but you analyze things as well including the downs.)

Yuzon then pointed out that being married to Karylle for a long time made him more sure of their love for each other.
“Kung sigurado ka back then, mas madaling maging sigurado now kasi meron na tayong 10 years together. Meron akong hindi nagawa before so I’m going to do it now. Will you marry me again?”
(If you’re sure back then, it’s easier to be more sure now because we’ve been together for 10 years. I haven’t done this before so I’m going to do it now. Will you marry me?)
A shocked Karylle then agreed to his proposal, which led them to share a sweet kiss and a short performance of Spongecola’s song “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay.”
First proposal
When asked how his first proposal to Karylle went, Yuzon said he popped the question during a car date — where they happened to be at the “exact spot” of their first kiss.
“Nasa kotse lang kami, pero doon naman sa exact spot kung saan kami nag-first kiss ever. Kotse ko naman,” he said. “Hindi kasi kami ma-big gesture eh, parang ever since low profile tayo. Lowkey lang.”
(We were in a car, but we were in the exact spot where we had our first kiss. It happened in my car. We’re not fond of big gestures and we preferred to have a low-profile relationship. Just lowkey.)
The couple have yet to make public details of their second wedding.
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Silang, Cavite in March 2014.
