Miss Universe Organization comes to Anne Jakrajutatip’s defense
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has spoken up in defense of the credibility of its co-owner Anne Jakrajutatip and her efforts to “promote transparency and integrity,” amid the Thai business mogul’s word war with its former president Paula Shugart.
In a press release posted on its website, the MUO spoke up in defense of Jakrajutatip, as it clapped back at supposed “malicious attempts” to tarnish the organization’s name and reputation.
“In light of recent misinformation and attempts to smear the Miss Universe Organization, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the core values we have diligently defended over the years,” it said. “The Miss Universe Organization has worked tirelessly to promote inclusion, transparency, and integrity, and we will not be swayed by unfounded allegations.”
The organization said it remains committed to “offer equal opportunities and honor the beauty” in every candidate regardless of who they are, crediting Jakrajutatip and her dedication to keeping the MUO alive.
“Our steadfast dedication to inclusion is exemplified by the leadership of our CEO, Anne Jakrajutatip, whose unwavering dedication has fostered a climate of freedom and equality through her actions,” it said.

“Our commitment to inclusion and transparency remains steadfast, and we will take all necessary legal action to address these unethical attempts to besmirch our organization,” it added.
Jakrajutatip has yet to personally comment on Shugart’s statement, though she recently appeared to make a show of force when she shared a video of the MUO’s current pool of officers including herself and reigning titleholder Sheynnis Palacios, with emphasis on the “JKN legacy,” a play at the two companies owning the pageant — Jakrajutatip’s JKN Global Group, and the Mexico-based Legacy Holding.
Earlier this month, Shugart declared that she’s mulling taking legal action against Jakrajutatip for making “unfounded allegations” against her, saying the former MUO president accepted “under the table” offers in exchange for a certain titleholder’s win.
