Mariel Padilla, amid being at the receiving end of criticisms from the public, stressed she did not intend on offending anyone by having an intravenous (IV) therapy session at the office of her husband, actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla.

The TV host-actress earned the ire of the netizens after she shared photos of herself, sitting at Robin’s Senate office while receiving a dose of IV drip.

Mariel, who later took down the photos, was at the Senate to support her husband following the passing of the Eddie Garcia Bill in the highest council.

Sought for her comment on the matter, Mariel told Bandera in an exclusive statement, “Oo nga, dami ko bashers.”

She also noted that “in honor of bashing,” she had another IV drip session while live-selling on Friday, Feb. 23.

“In my heart, [wala] akong tinapakan na kahit sinong tao. Kung may na-offend, sorry, pero walang intention na maka-offend,” she told the news outlet.

“After the Eddie Garcia Bill, hinintay ko si Robin. Mga 9 p.m. na ‘yun,” she added, saying she opted to conduct the IV drip session in Robin’s office because she was already late for her appointment with the drip services provider.

Robin already addressed the issue, admitting he found it amusing that it became a “political issue.” Mariel then thanked her husband in an Instagram post, saying he’s “the best” and that she’s “so blessed” to have him.

“If they saw something bad in that photograph, I apologize. No intention of disrespect,” Robin’s statement read. “My wife loves to promote good looks and good health.”

Sen. Nancy Binay, however, said they would “closely look into it” as Mariel’s use of Robin’s office for an IV drip session involved issues of the Senate’s reputation as well as health and safety.
