The management of the gas company that was being mentioned in the “benefactors” allegations against Dominic Roque has spoken up, dismissing “false information” that the actor—who is also its brand ambassador—was given one of its gasoline stations.

“Cleanfuel strongly condemns the false accusations that involve its brand ambassador, Dominic Roque,” the company said in a statement released through its official Instagram page on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

“To answer the misleading reports and false information circulating over social media, we are categorically denying the allegation that Mr. Roque was given a Cleanfuel gasoline station,” it continued.

While it did not immediately state the “reports” it was referring to, it can be noted that rumors of Roque’s alleged politician “benefactors” earlier arose on social media.

These speculations were apparently further fueled by the “malicious innuendos” of showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, who repeatedly spoke about it in her vlogs.

The names of Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and former Quezon City Rep. Bong Suntay—who is one of the owners of Cleanfuel company—later surfaced on various platforms, and the two were speculated to be the politicians Fermin was referring to.

The brand also stressed that it is a company-owned entity, hence it “does not provide nor extend franchise to anyone as claimed by some.”

“In his capacity as brand ambassador, Mr. Roque has worked and represented the brand professionally for the past six years. His contribution has been vital to reflect the company’s image and brand success,” the company added.

Roque earlier released a statement addressing the “malicious and defamatory” statements of Fermin involving Suntay and Jalosjos.

The showbiz columnist, in turn, stressed that the rumors involving the politicians did not come from her. She also said she had no plans of apologizing to anyone because she did not mention any names in her vlogs.

Suntay, meanwhile, disclosed that he and Jalosjos are mulling to file a case against certain individuals who alluded to them as Roque’s benefactors.
