Miss World: Gwendolyne Fourniol earns spot in Head2Head, sports challenges
Gwendolyne Fourniol was ecstatic as she claimed a spot both in the Top 25 finalists of the 71st Miss World Head2Head challenge, and in the Top 32 finalists of the sports challenge.
“Philippines! We made it to [the] Top 25 of head to head challenge, and qualified for the sports challenge final! (Top 8 per continent),” she announced via her Instagram Stories on Friday, Feb. 23.
“Mahal na mahal ko kayo, Pilipinas! Kasama ko kayo sa laban na ito!” Fourniol, who is in India for the competition, added.
The organization also revealed the full list of the finalists through its official Instagram page.
The Top 25 Head2Head finalists are Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Botswana, England, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Lebanon, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Wales, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.

Almost two years had passed since Fourniol’s coronation as the country’s representative to the 71st Miss World competition, after the pageant’s repeated changes in schedule.
She flew to New Delhi, India, last Feb. 17, weeks ahead of the coronation event on March 9 (March 10 in the Philippines).
Karolina Bielawska from Poland has been the reigning Miss World titleholder.
