Dominic Roque strongly dismissed a fake quote card which claims that he advised against choosing a girl who values wealth more than the love her partner can offer.

Through his Facebook page on Wednesday, Feb. 21, Roque shared a screenshot of the post from an account under the name “Philippines No. 1.”

The account shared a photo of the actor alongside the false statement attributed to him that said he “should have known from the start” and that it was a “lesson learned.”

“Dominic Roque, nagpost sa X ng paalala sa mga boys na ‘wag hahanap ng babae na dumidepende sa yaman,” the caption of the fake quote card read.

Roque belied this, writing on his page “FAKE NEWS!! FAKE NEWS!!! FAKE NEWS!!!”

Fans then expressed their support for Roque, reminding him to stay strong amid false claims and statements about him.

Roque also earlier released an official statement through his lawyers that dismissed the “malicious innuendos” made by showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin about his sexuality.

This was after Fermin apparently claimed through her social media vlogs that Roque had a politician benefactor with whom he was supposedly romantically involved. She added that such was apparently the reason behind Roque’s breakup with actress Bea Alonzo.

After these claims, the names of Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and former Quezon City congressman Bong Suntay surfaced on various platforms, and the two were speculated to be the politicians Fermin was referring to.

Fermin then stressed that the rumors involving Jalosjos and Suntay did not come from her as she did not mention any names in her vlogs. She said she had no plans of apologizing to Roque and the politicians involved.
