Filipina actress and “Lisa Frankenstein” breakout star Liza Soberano and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) alumna Ylona Garcia will be among the presenters at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024.

Anime Awards posted on their official social media accounts a promotional image that shows Soberano among the top musical talent and entertainment icons that will grace the upcoming ceremony.

Aside from her roster of Filipino films and television shows and her now blossoming Hollywood career, Soberano is also no stranger to the anime department. In 2021, the Filipina actress voiced Alexandra Trese in the Netflix-produced anime version of the Filipino comic book “Trese.”

In one of her past interviews about the anime series, Soberano called anime or comic book fans “very passionate.” That’s why she took her role in “Trese” deep in her heart and very seriously.

“I know that in the comic world, a lot of comic book fans, they’re really die hard, they really are passionate and protective of the characters that they love and the stories that they love, as would any fan be,” she said to Sun Star

Meanwhile, Garcia moved to the United States to further her musical career and is currently working under 88rising. She recently released a single, “Entertain Me,” which is a partnership with Valorant to introduce their newly playable character and first Filipino agent, Neon.

In their official Instagram account, Anime Awards announced the former PBB alumna’s participation in this year’s awards ceremony. They wrote, “Join us in welcoming @ylonagarcia as one of this year’s esteemed #AnimeAwards presenters. Her passion for music and entertainment is set to illuminate the stage.

The annual Anime Awards are to recognize and celebrate anime’s finest series, films, and the people behind them. The awards show is set to happen in Tokyo, Japan, in March, where the winners are selected through a global panel of judges and the fans who cast their votes in a variety of categories.

Aside from the two Filipinas, the 2024 Anime Awards will be star-dubbed with the presence of “Ms. Marvel” actress Iman Vellani, Grammy-winning pop star Megan Thee Stallion, “Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse” producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and director Joaquim dos Santos, Japanese girl group YOASOBI, and Japanese songstress LiSA, among others.

“Chainsaw Man” led this year’s Anime Awards nominations with a dominant 25 and will compete against Bocchi the Rock!; Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc; Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2; Oshi No Ko; and, Vinland Saga Season 2.

The award show will be available to stream live on March 2 and on Crunchyroll’s YouTube and Twitch accounts.
