Alethea Ambrosio is Miss Supranational Philippines
The Philippines’ representatives to the Miss and Mister Supranational competitions later this year have been announced, and they are the winners of the twin contests The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide held last year—Alethea Ambrosio and Brandon Espiritu.
The announcement was made at grand ballroom of Hilton Manila at the Newport complex in Pasay City on Feb. 18, where the two were joined by their fellow finalists who also received their respective international pageant assignments.
When Ambrosio and Espiritu were proclaimed as The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide, respectively, at the twin competitions held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in October last year, the organizers said that they will be appointed to compete in international pageants, along with their fellow finalists, but the announcement would be made in February.
Ambrosio will now try to exceed the first runner-up finish posted by her predecessor Pauline Amelinckx at the Miss Supranational pageant, and score the Philippines’ second victory more than a decade since Mutya Johanna Datul became the first Filipino woman to bring home the international crown.
Espiritu will try to become the first Filipino contender to be proclaimed Mister Supranational. He will be building on the consistent placement of the Philippines’ representatives in the male tilt, now considered as one of the most prestigious in the world.
