Carlo Aquino says no marriage plans yet with Charlie Dizon

Carlo Aquino once again reaffirmed his commitment to girlfriend, actress Charlie Dizon, but the actor said that they have no plans to tie the knot yet.
In an interview with MJ Marfori via TikTok during a skincare event, Aquino admitted that he sees himself settling down with Dizon “soon” when asked if they have plans of getting married in the future. He said, however, that his love for Dizon is long-lasting as he considers her to be his friend, anchor, and partner, all rolled into one.
“Wala pa, wala pa. Hopefully soon. Sana, ilang taon na ako, ilang taon na si Charlie (Not yet, but hopefully soon. I hope. Charlie and I are not getting any younger),” he said.
The actor said he’s “happy” with the state of his relationship with Dizon, saying their romance is just “chill,” to the point that it’s “easy” to settle any problems that arise between them.
“Ang gaan. Ang sarap tumawa. Tsaka kapag may problema, uupuan, pag-uusapan nang maayos (It’s light, it’s easy to laugh. And if there are problems, we sit down and discuss them properly),” he said.
When asked again if he sees Dizon as a potential wife, Aquino said they’re both happy with how things are but one shouldn’t be “too excited” to get into the next stage of a relationship.
“Masaya kami ni Charlie — nandoon ako. [Pero] wag ka masyadong excited kasi hindi ‘yun ‘yung buhay. May biglang manggugulat sa’yo diyan. Never kang magiging handa sa mga sakit sa buhay mo,” he said.
(Charlie and I are happy — I’m at that point in my life. But you shouldn’t be excited about such topics because that’s not how life works. Something might come as a surprise. You will never be ready for the hardships in your life.)
Aquino also noted that one needs an “ally, anchor, friend, partner, and family” in life, which he said were qualities that he found in the actress.
The actor confirmed his relationship with Dizon in January 2023, although the latter addressed Aquino as her boyfriend six months later.
Aquino said in an August 2023 interview that his romance with Dizon is “different” compared to his past relationships. Meanwhile, the latter said the actor was the “biggest surprise” of her life.
