Kris Aquino reached out to her friend, writer-editor Dindo Balares, and informed him about the news on her health that would “break [the latter’s] heart.”
Balares disclosed that Aquino had sent him a message saying that TV host Boy Abunda would make an announcement about her health on Wednesday, Feb. 14, which is also her 53rd birthday.
“Nasa roof deck garden ako last Monday night…nang matanggap ko ang message na ito ni Krisy (I was at my roof deck garden last Monday night when I received Krisy’s message): ‘Kuya Dindo, Boy (Abunda) is now taping. Please don’t preempt what he’ll be sharing to be aired on my birthday,'” Balares said on his Instagram page.
“I know my news will break your heart but please remember yung inampon mong panganay (your adopted eldest child) was BORN BRAVE. Please promise that you will just continue to pray [and] maintain your faith na kakayanin ko ‘to (that I will overcome this),'” her message further read.
Balares added that he knows the recent state of Aquino’s health although he will not write about it and will just wait for Abunda’s official announcement.
“‘Pag may request sa akin si Kris, o kahit na sino sa mga anak ko, tumatalima ako. Walang tanong-tanong. Isang way upang maipakita at maiparamdam kung gaano ko sila kamahal,” he noted.
(Whenever Kris or any of my children has a request, I always grant it without question. It’s one of my ways to show and make them feel how much I love them.)
Balares then made a correction in a separate post, stating that Aquino will make the announcement live alongside Abunda via the TV host’s show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”
Aquino is currently in the United States for her medical treatment for several autoimmune diseases. She is with her sons Josh and Bimby.
In an earlier post, Aquino disclosed that Bimby might return to the Philippines to work to help pay her medical bills.
