Liza Soberano attends ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ LA premiere
Liza Soberano graced the Hollywood premiere of “Lisa Frankenstein” along with her co-stars, and she made a happy response to Joe Russo’s praise for her performance in the movie.
On Monday, Feb. 5 (US time), Soberano attended the Los Angeles premiere of her global debut film “Lisa Frankenstein” and was asked how she felt about the acclaimed director and producer Russo calling her a “superstar.”
“There is this Filipino word called ‘kilig’. It’s when you get butterflies in your stomach and you feel so much love for something and that’s how I felt about my decision to move to L.A. and build a career out here. It kinda made me feel more comfortable,” she told Deadline Hollywood.

Soberano recently opened up about her struggles transitioning to Hollywood due to the backlash, but stressed that she felt welcomed among her co-stars.
She also said in one of her recent interviews that, despite being discouraged for a while, she is now happy and proud that she went out of her shell to pursue her dreams.
“More often than not, people would kind of shit on my dreams and be like, “It’s not going to happen. It’s impossible. People have tried it; it didn’t work for them.” That honestly discouraged me for the longest time, and I just kind of put that dream aside,” she opened up to Nerds of Color.
“But then during the pandemic, that’s when I had the time to really think and be like, ‘I’m going to try it. Now’s the right time. If I’m not going to try now, when am I going to try it?’ And so I’m happy I did. I’m happy I was brave enough to leave my comfort zone, and I hope I can inspire many other Filipinos to do the same.” concluded the actress.
“Lisa Frankenstein” will premiere in Philippine cinemas on Feb. 7, while US theaters will start screening it on Feb. 9.
