Veteran star’s selective amnesia
Don’t be fooled by Forgetful Star’s (FS) winsome charm—you’ll only see it on full display when FS needs something. This was Veteran Reporter’s (VR) advice to young writers around him who can easily get swept off their feet by FS’ “calculating” ways.
When FS shot her first film after a pandemic-induced hiatus, FS even went out of her way to get VR to attend her film’s press briefing and announced to every person around how special VR was to her. Some projects later, she also asked her assistants to invite VR to a get-together she was organizing to celebrate another milestone.
Touched by the sweet gesture, VR decided to attend. When he got to the venue, VR went straight to FS, congratulated her and shared some jokes with her. So you can imagine VR’s surprise when, about a week after the event, two people from FS’ coterie of “yes men” called him up asking if he ever went to the get-together! He was told, “FS wants to know if you were there.”
Knowing how loopy FS could get, VR told Rushes that he simply shrugged off FS’ “weirdness,” as he described the star’s “selective amnesia.” FS may have claimed how close she is to VR, but she doesn’t really “know” who VR is—until the next important project comes along! “Ang saklap, but that’s how the cookie crumbles in Tinseltown (laughs),” VR quipped matter-of-factly. Tsk.
