The love month is again upon us, and fan-favorite actress Nadine Lustre said her ideal Valentine’s date is a simple dinner, as she also extended advice to people who are in the early stages of dating.

During a product launch on Thursday, Feb. 1, Lustre revealed that she is not a fan of receiving cliche Valentine’s Day gifts and said a dinner is already enough for her.

“My ideal Valentine’s date, I’m a very simple person. I’m not the type to expect gifts or flowers or chocolates, the usual Valentine’s thing or gimmicks. Simple lang ako, a nice sit-down dinner would be perfect na for me,” she shared to INQUIRER.net.

When asked what dating advice she can give to couples, the “Deleter” star said they should “just enjoy” the journey, especially if they are still in the early days of the dating period.

“If you’re newly dating, this is my advice, don’t expect anything on the first date, just enjoy it, and be yourself,” she said.

Lustre noted that the advice she learned came from the experiences of her friends, who usually get “disappointed” during the first date.

“Just have fun when you go out on a date. I mean don’t expect something to happen. Just enjoy it ‘cause I do know and this is coming from friends’ experiences, not mine, na parang they get disappointed on the first date,” explained the actress.

Lustre is currently dating Filipino-French entrepreneur Christophe Bariou, and they are usually seen enjoying each other’s company on the island of Siargao. The actress has been an advocate of not just mental health but self-love as well.

“You should know how to be best friends with yourself, because at the end of the day, yung sarili mo lang yung kakampi mo. Nag-iisa ka lang, wala nang ibang katulad mo. So you just have to accept all these flaws and love yourself for who you really are,” she said in an interview with When in Manila in 2020.
