Carla Abellana reacts to Kris Aquino’s matchmaking offer: ‘Amusing and nakaka-flatter

Carla Abellana responded positively to Kris Aquino pairing her up with a “doctor friend,” saying she was flattered that the “Queen of All Media” thought of her amid her health condition.
In an interview with GMA during her network contract signing on Monday, Jan. 29, Abellana expressed her gladness over Aquino’s offer.
“I find it amusing and at the same time nakaka-flatter kasi naiisip niya pa ako. May ganoong nirereto siya, may suggestion siyang ganon. Ok naman. Nakakatuwa!” said the Kapuso actress.
(I find it amusing and, at the same time, flattering to be thought of. She has someone in mind for me, a suggestion, so it’s really okay. I’m very glad.)
The Kapuso primetime goddess said she considered the matchmaking a “compliment.”
“In a way, compliment pa nga ‘yon. Parang magandang gesture coming from her na meron siyang naiisip para sa akin,” she said. (In a way, it’s a compliment, a beautiful gesture coming from her that she has someone in mind for me.)
Despite being flattered, Abellana frankly said she’s not considering the former “Kris TV” host’s offer.
“Medyo mahirap iyon kasi all the way sa US. Medyo natatakot pa po ako,” the 37-year-old actress said. (That’s going to be hard because [he’s] all the way from the US, and I am still afraid.)
The “Stolen Life” star explained that in the meantime, she is not willing to take the option, at the same time noting that it’s not that she doesn’t trust Aquino.
“Not that I don’t want to take her offer or not that I don’t trust her pero sa ngayon parang tatawanan ko na lang muna. Hindi ko muna i-eexplore yun,” said Abellana.
(Not that I don’t want to take her offer or that I don’t trust her, but right now, I just want to laugh it off, and I’m not open to exploring it further.)
Abellana has been separated from actor Tom Rodriguez since 2022, just three months after their marriage.
The Kapuso actress has been open about what went down in their relationship.
Rodriguez went to the United States after their separation and recently returned to the Philippines. The actress said she is “ready” if ever she crosses paths with her estranged husband.
