Liza Soberano is set to make her anticipated Hollywood debut in February for “Lisa Frankenstein,” and Kathryn Newton, one of her co-stars in the film, commended the Filipina actress’ work ethic and personality.

Sitting down on Mayhem Mendes’ “Behind the Scenes,” Newton detailed what it was like to work with the “Dolce Amore” star, noting how effectively she brought life to the character she was playing.

“I love Liza. She’s just a gift to the world, this girl. She’s the sweetest girl I’ve ever met in my whole life and there is nobody that could play this role except her because she’s such a sweet human,” she said.

“The Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” actress emphasized Soberano’s professionalism in playing Taffy, which makes working with her so easy and memorable.

“Taffy is really like a sideways human kind of sweet, kind of terrible you’re not really sure but there’s nothing about Liza that’s not perfect and sweet so working with her has been a lesson ‘cause she’s so professional,” said Newton.

“She’s like blowing me cold out of the water. This girl cries on command, she is funny on command and she’s always perfect so working with her is so much fun,” added the Hollywood star.

Soberano, who was encouraged by the film director Zelda Williams to do a screen test for her role in “Lisa Frankenstein,” said she can personally relate to Taffy and explained the dynamics that go on with her character and Newton’s lead role.

“Taffy and Lisa, there is a lot of context behind them because they are just new sisters. They grew up in different households, different upbringings and are two completely different people but the way that it is showcased or presented in the movie is in a very one-dimensional way,”said Soberano.

The “Forevermore” actress explained how the Hollywood film will delve into the emotional touch of having step-sibilings, which will be featured in Taffy and Lisa’s side story.

“There’s such deeper context as to what they’ve experienced in their personal lives that makes them, them and their relationship. I think it’s very realistic, if you’ve for people who have experienced having step siblings. It is very hard to penetrate through emotional barriers and I guess that’s really what this movie showcases,” said Soberano.

“Lisa Frankenstein” will premiere in American cinemas on February 9, but the Philippines will screen it in advance on February 7.
