Tom Rodriguez back in PH, as ex-wife Carla Abellana speaks up on divorce

All eyes are on Tom Rodriguez as he returned to the Philippines and met up with talent manager and film producer Popoy Caritativo, although details of their meeting are yet to be revealed.
Rodriguez has been based in the US since 2022 after confirming his divorce from Kapuso actress Carla Abellana in June of the same year. Last year, Abellana filed a “petition for the recognition” of their divorce in the Philippines as it’s not legalized in the country.
But it appears that Rodriguez is ready to start afresh in the Philippines as he met up with Caritativo in Mandaluyong, as seen in the latter’s Instagram post on Saturday, Jan. 27.
“Hello, Tom,” Caritativo said in the caption of her post.

But hours before Caritativo’s reveal, Abellana caught the attention of netizens as she reshared a quote about “choosing your hard” on her Instagram Stories.
“Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard… Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Choose wisely,” the quote read.

Rodriguez and Abellana wed in October 2021 after being together since 2014. The couple eventually parted ways, with the actor confirming their divorce in June 2022 after months of speculation.
