Andrea Del Rosario admitted that she did not like being tagged as a “sexy star” during her early days in show business but had to endure it to help provide for her family.

In a guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Jan. 24, the King of Talk bluntly asked the actress, “When you’re being packaged as a sexy star, did you like it?”

“Of course not,” responded Del Rosario. “But my drive to work kasi at that time was to help my family.”

“Nagkahiwalay po ang mga magulang ko, and then it was just my mom and then she had to take care of the four of us. ‘Yun ang opportunity ko to somehow, move forward in life,” she added.

The former member of Viva Hot Babes revealed that she had second thoughts about diving into the “sexy star” genre but had to embrace it eventually.

“…[K]inondisyon ko na rin ang mind ko to have the right kind of mindset na don’t regret any decision that you make. ‘You just do it.’ And that’s what I did,” she said.

When asked how she makes her only daughter, Beatrice Anne, understand her past as a sexy star, the former Calatagan, Batangas, vice mayor said that she would explain that it was a matter of life choices that were given to her at the time.

“I’ll just explain to her that of course, we are all given the freedom of choice, and at that time, I had to choose to survive, and that was the opportunity that was given to me to somehow move forward,” stated Del Rosario.

The “Dirty Linen” actress admitted that if she had the chance to go back, she wouldn’t go down the same path again.

“If I can change it, of course. But then again itinuturo ko naman sa kaniya that in anything that you do, whether you make a mistake, the most important thing is learn from it,” she concluded.
