Anne Curtis says no hard feelings vs Vice Ganda after endorsement joke
Anne Curtis assured her fans that there’s “no need for such negative energy” after she was unwittingly led by “It’s Showtime” co-host Vice Ganda to say the tagline of a commercial advertisement that he was endorsing.
On the Jan. 20 episode of the noontime show, Vice Ganda playfully told Curtis to say, “Nice, Ganda.” The actress-host initially thought nothing of it, and repeated the phrase, until she soon realized that this was the tagline of the fast-food chain commercial that was directly in competition with the food brand she was patronizing.
“Ay, bad ‘yun sa’kin (Hey, that’s bad for me),” Curtis then said, still laughing at how she had been one-upped by Vice Ganda. “Sorry po, pasensya na po. Di ko sinasadya yon (So sorry, please excuse me. I didn’t meant that.”
Vice Ganda, and fellow hosts Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro were laughing in the background while Karylle hugged her, as captured by one @AltStarMagic on X (formerly Twitter). Vice Ganda can then be heard saying, “Bakit ka naman magsosorry? ‘Maganda’ lang naman yung sinabi, wala ka namang sinabing masama.”

“Ikaw, kapag nawalan ako ng kontrata. Pasensya na po kayo. Hindi ko po sinasadya (You, if I lose my contract. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean it). Lapse of judgement, sorry,” she said.

The next day, Curtis took to her X page to once say that having said the phrase was a lapse in judgment on both her and Vice Ganda’s side. She also urged their followers to stay calm and not blow up with “negative energy.”
“Guys, kalma. No need for such negative energy. Vice and I are fine. It was a lapse of judgment on both sides. At least we can move forward and be [careful],” she said.
“Ganyan ang biruan backstage, but syempre dapat iba pag on-air. Kaya kalma (That’s how we joke around backstage but we must be professional on air. So calm down). It’s a beautiful day,” she further added.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda admitted on X that there are moments when he doesn’t “think enough” and that he tends to go beyond his boundaries when it comes to making people laugh.
“At times I dont think enough. Sa kagustuhan kong magpatawa bira ako ng bira kaya minsan sablay (With my intention to make funny lines, I tend to make a mistake). Sometimes I hate myself,” he said.
“Pero ganun talaga sa comedy man o sa real life talagang hit and miss (But comedy is like that, even in real life, there’s always a hit or miss) And we’ll just have to try again,” he continued.

“But yes, it was lapse of judgment. It was our usual ‘brandagulan’ moment na late nya narealize so nasabi nya ung tagline nang di nya namalayan. I apologized to her And pinagtawanan n lng namin. Our sisterhood will always be Nice Ganda,” he added.
