Vice Ganda expressed his disappointment over trending TikTok “lip readers” trying to decipher the conversation of the television hosts.

During an episode of “It’s Showtime!”, Vice Ganda addressed the clips making the rounds online, in which the conversations of the hosts during the commercial breaks of the show are being decoded by online lip readers.

“May mga madlang people na nagvi-video tapos nili-lip read tayo sa TikTok, that’s so bad,” said the host-comedian.

Vice Ganda asserted that it is disrespectful on their part as their private conversation is being put up for public consumption and noted the possible consequences of misconceptions if the interpretation is out of context.

“Syempre nakaka-offend sa part namin kasi deserve din naman namin ng privacy at mag-usap usap bilang magkakaibigan. Pero nili-lip read nila at ang nakakatakot kapag mali ‘yung sinasabi,” he said.

(It’s offensive on our part because we also deserve our privacy and the right to talk as friends, but people are trying to lip-read our conversation, and it’s scary if their interpretations are wrong.)

The “Unkabogable Star” attested that the lip readers are sometimes putting malice on their interpretations of the conversations.

“Tapos minsan sasadyain. Bibigyan talaga nila ng anggulong controversial ‘yung mga bagay,” expressed the comedian.

Vice Ganda weighed in on the downside of being a public figure, highlighting that it is saddening when people invade their privacy.

“Masarap na nare-recognize tayo pero minsan talaga pero minsan talagang nilalampasan nila, ‘Wala, walang privacy rito. Kailangan lahat alam namin. Kailangan lahat pakiki-alaman namin.’ That’s nakakasad sometimes,” he stated.

(It’s nice to be recognized, but sometimes people are crossing the line, ‘There’s no privacy here. We need to know everything. We need to interfere with everything.’ That’s saddening sometimes.)
