Gretchen Ho, Kiko Rustia debate on Jo Koy’s Golden Globe hosting
Gretchen Ho and Kiko Rustia engaged in a heated discussion over Jo Koy’s Golden Globe hosting after the former “Survivor” castaway member answered Ho’s post that called Jo Koy’s hosting stint a “wasted opportunity.”
On X (formerly Twitter), Rustia replied to the former TV Patrol anchor’s tweet and argued that it was not a “wasted opportunity,” as Jo Koy was brave enough to take on the hosting gig that no one had wanted to sign up for.
“Rising to the challenge, win or fail, is never a wasted opportunity. Jo Koy may have blundered, but the fact remains: he took on that role and got up on that stage when others couldn’t and wouldn’t. That said, disabling comments is a wasted opportunity to learn from one’s blunder,” wrote Rustia.

Ho then went on to explain that she never intended for the “wasted opportunity” remark to be taken in a different context, as she just wanted to weigh in on the “uncomfortable” jokes that the comedian made on stage.

The TV5 anchor further elaborated on the jokes that she was referring to and emphasized that it was a personal opinion and that she had received drawbacks from it days after she expressed it online.
“I also found some of the jokes off—like the Barbie one. In an influential stage such as Hollywood where they’re trying to disentangle stereotypes, it was contrary [to] what they were trying to do,” she said.
“Am I not allowed to have my opinion as a viewer? Also, I already got a lot of flak for posting this, sir. What else do you want?” Ho concluded.

Rustia replied back and said he did not mean to offend and noted that a follow-up tweet from the anchor would have cleared up the misconceptions.
Ho expressed her openness and said that it’s the reason she’s been replying to have a conversation, and she ended her stand with a “thanks.”
Agree, and noted :) Thanks.

Jo Koy drew massive criticism at his Golden Globes hosting gig last Jan. 7 after he threw “misogynistic” jokes. However, many celebrities came to his defense.
