GMA informed the public that there have been scammers using its name to hold fake auditions for its upcoming TV series “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” and ask money from the victims.

“GMA Entertainment Group strongly warns the perpetrators who have been posting about the fake audition for ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,'” the network said in a statement released on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

“These scammers are wrongfully using the name of GMA Network to ask for money and/or solicit private photos and information,” it noted.

The network further noted that announcements for such auditions will only be posted on its official social media accounts.

“The public is hereby advised that there is no ongoing audition for the upcoming series. Victims of these fake auditions are also encouraged to report to the authorities,” it added.

“Encantadia” creator Suzette Doctolero also shared the network’s announcement alongside screenshots of the fake audition calls posted on Facebook.

“Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” helmed by director Mark Reyes, will feature Bianca Umali as new keeper of the “brilyante ng lupa”; Kelvin Miranda as the keeper of the “brilyante ng tubig”; Angel Guardian as the keeper of “brilyante ng hangin”; and Faith Da Silva as the keeper of “brilyante ng apoy.”
