Laufey is coming back to Manila on May 28

03:54 PM January 08, 2024

These words echoed in a packed venue during Laufey’s first-ever visit to Manila at her Karpos Live show on May 30, 2023, “I’ve never felt this strong support from any country.”

The warm reception for the singer-songwriter led to calls for an encore or, at the very least, additional tickets for her already sold-out performance. She consistently expressed her gratitude for the affection received from her new Filipino friends and vowed to come back.

In what feels like a full circle moment, she’s doing just that… one year later.

KARPOS has just announced Laufey: A Night At The Symphony with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra on May 28 at the PICC Plenary Hall.

This will be a very special performance as Laufey rarely performs with a full orchestra on tour. If you’re aware of the kind of music Laufey puts out, it is certain that the Manila Philharmonic will fully complement and symphonically elevate a Laufey show. Laufey’s rise to fame has become one of the greatest musical phenomena in recent times, essentially bringing jazz back to the younger generation. Her charming personality, graceful stage presence, emotive voice, and exquisite play on words and sounds resonate deeply with not just the majority of her younger audience, but also those who actually grew up listening to jazz. It is no surprise to see a spectrum of generations at her shows.

It’s not very often to come across an artist who sounds and plays music like Laufey in the modern day, so make sure to save yourself a seat for a night at the symphony.
Tickets go on sale starting January 10 via tickelo.com.
