K-pop boy group Seventeen notched Album of the Year at the 38th Golden Disc Awards with their 10th EP, “FML.”

The Golden Disc Awards, one of the most prestigious annual K-pop awards, took place at Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday, Jan. 6.

“We are grateful to have members that work hard. We think we have continuously shown growth each year at the Golden Disc Awards. We are so proud to receive this top honor today,” said Mingyu of Seventeen in the group’s acceptance speech at the ceremony. Thanking Carat, the band’s fan community, Mingyu said, “We will make sure to return soon with a new album that lives up to this title we’ve earned today.”

Seventeen took home the most number of awards at the Golden Disc Awards this year, winning Best Album and Best Digital Song; its subunit BSS also won Best Digital Song.

The group brought the awards ceremony to a close performing “Super,” “Ima-Even if the World Ends Tomorrow” and “God of Music.”

This was the first time the group performed the Korean version of its Japanese single “Ima-Even if the World Ends Tomorrow” on stage.

K-pop girl group NewJeans showed incredible growth less than two years following its debut by securing Song of the Year and Best Digital Song with its mega-hit single “Ditto.”

“2023 has been such an astonishing year for us. We’ve been able to learn and share so much and we are forever grateful for this. Bunnies (NewJeans’ fan community), your love and support have taken us through such a beautiful journey in 2023 and we can’t wait for our next adventure in 2024,” said Danielle of NewJeans.

Hyein of NewJeans kicked off the group’s performance at the ceremony with a solo performance of “Cool with You.”

The artists amped up the stadium with a performance of “Ditto” which followed.

The Rookie Artist Award went to Zerobaseone, which has sold more than 2 million copies of its debut album, and to Fifty Fifty, whose single, “Cupid,” became a hit with listeners globally.
