Benjamin Alves, Chelsea Robato share details of January wedding

Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves and content creator Chelsea Robato shared that they will be tying the knot in an intimate wedding in Makati on January 28 after a year of being engaged.
Sitting down for 24 Oras, the couple gave a glimpse of what their wedding venue was going to be like, noting that they wanted it to be “immersive.”
“We wanted the place to not look static, so it’s alive, like it’s something immersive, so when you enter the reception area, you feel like you’re somewhere else,” said Alves.
Robato then shared what she is expecting from the Kapuso hunk before they say ‘I Do’, requesting that Alves be in tears as she walks down the aisle.
“I didn’t have anything in mind, actually. I’m not the dreamer type. The only thing I asked him was that you have to cry when I walk down,” she said.
The actor also shared that his wife-to-be wanted a “harana” or serenade during their wedding, something that Robato told Alves since their first date.
“Gusto niya ng harana daw sa reception, but bahala na. We’ll see,” he said.
Before they even began dating, the couple were supposed to walk together for a fashion show in Guam wearing wedding attire in 2010, but the actor refused, not knowing his partner would be his future betrothed.
“She was the last bride to walk, and they needed a groom. And ang sabi ko, ‘no.’ Kasi parang ayoko. Parang paano naman ako maggu-groom, eh, parang hindi pa naman ako ready magpakasal,” he recalled.
The love story of the two was 10 years in the making, as they began as childhood friends in Guam and schoolmates during their collegiate years.
In 2019, the couple’s mutual friend, Kapuso actress Thea Tolentino, reintroduced them to each other, which started their romance.
“So Thea’s invited to our wedding. Once we got engaged, she was like, ‘We have to invite Thea.’ Siya ‘yung naging tulay,” said the actor.
The couple are also business partners in running their online flower shop.
