Sanya Lopez says ‘plastikan’ is part of showbiz

Sanya Lopez said that hypocrisy and pretense, or “plastikan,” are all part of show business, and the system has been deeply ingrained in every artist to a certain degree, including herself.
Sitting down with Snooky Serna, the “Half Sisters” actress said that when she joined the entertainment industry, she was fully aware that there is a possibility of insincerity or fake behavior among people that she would be dealing with, and not just celebrities.
“Nung pumasok ako sa industriya na ‘to, inaccept ko na may mga tao talaga na ‘plastik’ kasi parang naging parte na ng buhay ng mga artista ‘yon. Naging sistema na nila, natin. Sama ko na rin ‘yung sarili ko,” affirmed the actress.
As an example, Lopez said that an artist may have put up a nice front when they find themselves working with their least favorite people out of professionalism
“Kunwari may mga taong may hindi gusto sayo, pinaplastik ka nila for the sake of work. Kapag magkatrabaho tayo kahit naman ayaw mo sakin or ayoko sayo, naging parte na siya natin,” she explained.
‘Palaban’ mantra
The “First Yaya” and “Encantadia” star shared that her treatment of other people mirrors the way they treat her, and she is not scared to fight back if she feels that she is in the right.
“(With me) What you see is what you get. Mabait ako sa taong mabait sakin. Pero kapag kailangan ko na lumaban, lumalaban rin ako. Palaban pero dapat nasa tama. Hindi tayo laban nang laban lang,” she said.
The 27-year-old also shared that she had already experienced being shamed in the past, though she did not name who did it to her. This incident, however, shaped her to become more gracious as an artist.
“May naexperience rin po ako na hindi maganda. May moment non, nakaupo ako sa loob ng tent tapos syempre hindi naman ako artista, talent ako. So ‘yung tent is provided for the artists lang. Sabi ba naman sakin, ‘Anong ginagawa mo dito? Doon ka sa labas kasi hindi ka naman artista,” she said.
“Kung hindi ko naexperience ‘yon, baka po ang yabang-yabang ko ngayon. May mga bagay po kasi minsan pinaparanas satin para maintindihan mo ‘yung sitwasyon, mga bagay katulad ng ‘yung mga dating talent sila na ‘yung magbibida sa susunod. So always be nice,” the actress further said.
