Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa of Blackpink will no longer continue any solo activities with their original label YG Entertainment. They will nonetheless pursue group activities under the South Korean music label.

In an official statement on Friday, Dec. 29, YG confirmed the members of Blackpink did not sign their solo contracts with the label, but renewed their contracts for group activities.

“Blackpink recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities,” the statement said, per a Soompi translation.

Despite this, the agency said they will “cheer on” Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa’s solo pursuits. “We will do our utmost to support Blackpink’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts.”

The statement comes days after Jennie established her own label OA or Odd Atelier, although the agency was founded in November of this year.

“OA, which stands for Odd Atelier, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected. It is a label founded by artist Jennie in November 2023,” as said on the agency’s official website.

Meanwhile, details on Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa’s new labels have yet to be disclosed as of this writing.

Blackpink, who renewed their group activities under YG earlier this month, debuted as a quartet in August 2016. The group has since established themselves as one of the leading forces of K-pop with their domestic and global popularity.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa also made a name for themselves apart from Blackpink, which is considered a rare case for groups in the K-pop industry.
