The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 Gabi ng Parangal last Dec. 27 was a star-studded night to remember, as the biggest names of the Filipino film industry gathered at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City to represent the 10 entries for this year’s edition.

Power couple Marian Rivera, who looked breathtaking in a red midi dress, and Dingdong Dantes were among the biggest names who graced the event, and were accompanied by “Rewind” director Mae Cruz Alviar.

MMFF 2023 Best Actor Cedrick Juan, Enchong Dee, Elijah Canlas and director Pepe Diokno were accompanied by the production team of “GomBurZa” during the event, as seen when the movie was named as second-best picture.

Actress Karen Toyoshima also shared a closer glimpse of Juan holding his Best Actor trophy while a visibly supportive Dee can be seen in the photo.

“Mallari” stars Piolo Pascual, Josh Vahn Lee and JC Santos, who was named as MMFF 2023 Best Supporting Actor, were joined by the film’s executive producer John Bryan Diamante during the award ceremony.

MMFF 2023 Best Child Performer Euwenn Mikaell, Alessandra De Rossi, Ysabel Ortega and Miguel Tanfelix showed their all-out support for the Zig Dulay-helmed “Firefly,” which emerged as Best Picture.

The lead stars of “When I Met You in Tokyo,” including Vilma Santos, Christopher de Leon, Darren Espanto and Cassy Legaspi, didn’t hesitate to show up at the star-studded event to root for the MMFF entry’s success.

Miles Ocampo, reeling from her MMFF 2023 Best Supporting Actress win, looked fierce in her all-black outfit at the event. Ocampo’s “Family of Two” co-stars Alden Richards and Sharon Cuneta also caught the attention of attendees in their respective ensembles.

“Becky & Badette” lead star Eugene Domingo drew laughs from the audience after receiving her trophy for her rendition of “Finggah Lickin,” which was named as Best Original Theme Song at the ceremony.

Also present at the event were “Penduko” star Matteo Guidicelli, Lorna Tolentino, Boots Anson Roa- Rodrigo, MMFF 2023 Best Supporting Actress Kaladkaren and director Joey Reyes, just to name a few.

Meanwhile, “K(ampon)” leads Beauty Gonzalez and Derek Ramsay were noticeably absent at the award ceremony.

“GomBurZa” emerged as the biggest winner of the MMFF 2023 Gabi ng Parangal with a total of seven awards, while “Firefly” was named as Best Picture, along with two other awards.

“Mallari” and “When I Met You in Tokyo,” on the other hand, brought home a total of four trophies by the end of the event.
