Sherwin Gatchalian gives toast to ‘Marites’ after vowing undying love to Bianca Manalo
Just days after expressing his dedication to girlfriend Bianca Manalo as a Christmas gift, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian dedicated a toast to bashers and rumor mongers on social media.
The lawmaker shared a photo of what seemed to be a glass of whiskey and chicharon at a bar, on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in what seemed to be his response to naysayers following the leak of Manalo’s text conversation with her “Magandang Dilag” co-star Rob Gomez.
“Cheers to the bashers, bitters, negas at mariteses (and rumor mongers). Ang anghang ng chicharon (The chicharon is spicy),” he said in the caption.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2009 titleholder, as well as Budol, denied any involvement with Gomez last Dec. 22., as she stressed that parts of their exchange were deleted with malicious intent. “It is obvious that parts of our conversation were deleted to create malicious insinuations,” she wrote in a statement on Instagram. “He was going to bring Christmas gifts and I wanted to receive them early before I leave for the airport.”
Meanwhile, Gomez has yet to outrightly deny the allegations as of this writing. But he caught the attention of netizens after sharing photos of his daughter Amelia’s baptismal ceremony, which apparently took place last Dec. 17.
