Saab Magalona recovering after surgery, spends Christmas in hospital
Saab Magalona has nothing but gratitude after she had a successful surgery, which was prompted by her rare congenital condition Meckel’s Diverticulum.
Meckel’s Diverticulum is an “outpouching or bulge in the lower part of the small intestine,” as per Cleveland Clinic.
Magalona gave an update on her health through her Instagram page on Sunday, Dec. 24, saying she was finally able to see her kids Pancho and Vito after her operation.
“[The surgery] was a success and I’m now recovering and will hopefully be out of the hospital in a few days,” she said. “Thank you so much for your prayers and well-wishes.”

She was vomiting, losing blood, and I was screaming for help, urging her to wake up, to stay alive, as Pancho and Vito watched and screamed in fear.” Bacarro recalled.
Bacarro and Magalona were accompanied by his father as they rode a boat and an ambulance to a hospital in Kalibo, all while the she was “[losing] a significant amount of blood and [battling] pneumonia.”
“We managed an emergency airlift back to Manila. Even after our arrival, the bleeding continued, so yesterday, our trusted surgeon, Dr. Jay Hippolito, performed a two-hour open surgery on Saab. She is now recovering and stable,” she said.
“Currently, we’re in our hospital room, looking forward to enjoying some soup for Noche Buena, while our boys spend Christmas with our family,” he added.

Bacarro then thanked his father, their family who took care of their kids in their absence, and all those who helped them including the doctors and the resort staff.
“To God, thank you for showing me that at the end of the day, light will always outshine the darkness,” he stated.
“It’s a strange Christmas indeed—yet may be our most special one,” he said. “We’re together, alive and continue to feel God’s presence through other people.”
